Would you like to get your dog and possibly yourself extra exercise? A great way to do that is with agility training!

Agility training is one of the fastest growing dog sports in the country. It is a fantastic way for you and your dog to get up and moving while enjoying a fun and engaging activity. During our novice agility course, we will introduce you and your dog to a variety of different obstacles that include: jumps, weave poles, teeter totter, A-frame, dog walk and more.

Agility training is a great dog sport that affords both dog and handler some extra physical exercise. It also allows you the opportunity to build and strengthen the bond and relationship between you and your dog. It helps create partnership between you and your dog that relies on you working together as a team.

Physical exercise is only one side of the coin to having a happy and tired dog at the end of the day. The other side is mental exercise! Agility training is the perfect combination of physical and mental stimulation for your dog, and works their brains just as much as their bodies! Agility is not just for the overly hyper, excited, or athletic dogs (or people) either! We welcome all breeds and energy levels to come join. Whether you just want a fun activity to do with your dog every once in a while, or you would like to eventually compete in agility trials, we welcome anyone and everyone who would like to learn and try this amazingly fun dog sport.

Come give your dog's brain and body a workout all while building a lasting partnership between you and your furry friend!

Rally Obedience

Rally obedience is all about you and your dog working together as a team. You will navigate a set course while guiding your dog through each exercise and obstacle. The course is set up with different exercises and commands such as left and right turns, sit, down, spins and more.

During the activity, touching your dog is not allowed. They are leashed and the use of verbal commands with lots of engagement and encouragement is key to a successful run.

Come join us for the beginner rally! During the six week course, we will teach you how to navigate the exercises, help improve your dogs obedience skills, while building and strengthening your relationship with you dog.

Fascinating fact: Dogs have a sense of smell that’s between 10,000 and 100,000 times more acute than ours! The sport of Scent Work celebrates the joy of sniffing and asks a dog to sniff to their heart’s content, turning your dog’s favorite activity into a rewarding game. It is a terrific sport for all kinds of dogs and is a wonderful way to build confidence in a shy dog. Our six-week class works with games and fun to teach your dog to find the scent and then communicate to you they have found the scent. This is a great class for fun or for training your service dog to detect certain scents

Reactive Dog Rehab: First Private Evaluation  $150.00

Dogs with aggression issues towards other pets and/or people can create a very stressful situation. For example, a relaxing walk in the park can quickly take a turn for the worse when leash aggression involving barking, lunging, and snapping begins. When this happens, many pet parents don’t know where to turn. We have been rehabbing aggressive dogs for over 30 years.

If you have a dog that is exhibiting signs of aggression, reactivity issues towards other animals or people, or a dog that shows nervousness, anxiety or fearfulness, and don't know where to turn, we can help! We have been helping dog owners in our community learn how to change these behaviors permanently and see amazing results for over 30 years. Having a reactive or aggressive dog creates a stressful environment for everyone involved including the dog.

Our staff has an immense amount of experience in this area and are willing to work with you to find the best solution that works for your particular dog and their specific issues. Just like humans, every dog is different, and reacts to different things. We don’t limit ourselves to certain tools or methods and will help you find the style and tools that meet your dogs needs. We will also work with you one on one to develop your handling and trimming so that you can better manage your dog on leash, and begin to modify that stressful and anxious behavior.

No dog should have to go through life stressed, anxious and fearful. Let us help give you the tools to give them a happier and healthier life!

Nose Work and Scenting

6 week class 1 hour weekly

Nose work is a new, and up and coming dog sport, that is a fun and stimulating way to engage with your dog. While the sport was developed on principles derived from fields such as military and police K9 detection, tracking, and search and rescue, any dog can participate! One of the best things about Nose work, is that it’s open to all breeds and mixes, and accommodates any temperament or disposition. Many handlers and trainers are now using nose work to help dogs with behavioral issues like reactivity, aggression, nervousness and anxiety to develop confidence, independence, and increase their mental stimulation, and are seeing vast improvements in the dogs they work with. While we all know that our dogs require physical exercise to be healthy and happy, many forget that mental exercise is just as important, if not even more important to overall health, and well-being of your dog. Nose work, scenting sports, and nose games are an incredible way to fill the need for both mental and physical stimulation for you and your dog, and will create an unbreakable partnership between you and your pup. The advantages and applications of scent training are limitless, and are being expanded upon daily.

About 60% of a dog's brain is specifically dedicated to smelling, and deciphering the information they get from smelling, and then applying that information. A dog quite literally explores their world and learns about their environment through smell. Because of this, our introduction to nose work and scenting class is unlike any other. Our trainers have drawn on their experiences and backgrounds in fields like search and rescue, tracking, hunting, competitive nose work, and medical scent detection alert training, to create a fun and engaging class that gives people and their dogs a strong foundation in all scenting.

We cover a multitude of scenting disciplines in this fun and laid back class. Including games and enrichment activities, introduction to a variety of scent types, scenting sports and uses, indications, medical scent detection, tracking, searching, and much more. This is a fantastic way to start exploring all of the ways you can have fun with your dog using scenting. Your dog will build confidence, independence, and gain problem solving skills, while you build handling, timing, and a stronger bond with your dog. Open to all students with basic obedience!
